01 / THE MY DEBT COLLECTORS DIFFERENCE

Your business.
Our next
step forward.

Debt recovery needs attention, judgement and a human conversation.

An overdue invoice is more than a number. It’s your time, your work and money your business is counting on.

My Debt Collectors by Sceawian takes a hands-on approach to debt collection in Sydney. We consider field attendance at the beginning of your matter, reviewing the history of contact and whether a visit is suitable.

Where a visit is requested or agreed, or reasonable attempts through less intrusive channels have failed and attendance is necessary, we can make personal contact part of the early recovery plan. Every visit must respect privacy, access restrictions and reasonable contact hours.

We plan field attendance from the outset. An early visit proceeds where agreed, necessary and lawful, supported by a clear recovery plan.

Keep things moving

We report on contact, follow up agreed payments and discuss your options. Any extra work or legal referral needs your approval first.

*A visit is never automatic. Unsolicited field contact is generally a last resort under ACCC/ASIC guidance. Prior contact, consent, vulnerability and the circumstances of the debt guide the approach.

What to know before you engage debt collectors in Sydney.

Ask about your situation
What do debt collectors actually do?+

Debt collectors act for a creditor to seek payment of an overdue debt. They review the account, contact the person or business that owes money, seek payment or an agreed arrangement, and report progress. They must follow applicable laws and cannot guarantee recovery.

Do you visit the debtor at the beginning?+

We plan for field attendance from the outset. An early visit can form part of the plan where the debtor has requested or agreed to it, or less intrusive contact has failed and attendance is necessary and appropriate. A visit is not automatic: ACCC/ASIC guidance generally treats unsolicited field contact as a last resort.

How much do debt collectors in Sydney charge?+

Our indicative pricing is 21% plus GST on money recovered, with a separate Sydney metro field fee of $192.50 plus GST for the agreed attendance scope. The field fee remains payable without recovery. Additional travel, searches, extra visits and legal costs need a separate quote. A written agreement confirms all fees before work starts.

What information do I need to get started?+

Begin with your contact details, the amount owed, the age of the debt and a short summary without debtor identifiers. For assessment we may then request invoices, your customer agreement, proof of delivery or work completed, payment history and records of previous contact through an agreed channel.

How long does debt collection take?+

There is no fixed recovery time. The quality of the documents, whether the debt is disputed, the ability to contact the debtor and their ability to pay all affect the outcome. We agree on next steps after assessment rather than promising an instant result.

Can the debtor be made to pay collection costs?+

Collection fees cannot automatically be added to a debt. Whether costs can be recovered depends on the contract, the type of debt, applicable law and any court order. We assess this separately and do not assume your customer is liable for our fees.

What if the debt is disputed?+

Tell us about any dispute before engagement. A dispute about the goods, services, amount or liability needs assessment and supporting evidence. Collection activity may need to pause while the matter is clarified, and independent legal advice may be appropriate.

Which parts of Sydney can I enquire about?+

We welcome enquiries across Greater Sydney, including the CBD, Parramatta, Western Sydney, the Inner West, North Shore, Northern Beaches, Eastern Suburbs and Southern Sydney. Availability, travel costs and the attendance scope are confirmed for the address before engagement.
